Gold Lesson 100: Complete the Paper-System Project and Defend Its Evidence
Assemble a reproducible gold paper-system project, reconcile closed and open results, and justify a continue, revise or suspend decision.
The final project is an evidence package
Completing one hundred readings is useful only if the concepts can be connected in a decision process. This project asks for a frozen charter, testable setup, transition map, feasible sizing, exit specification, event exclusions and a reviewable execution record. Use paper observations and clearly distinguish synthetic exercises from forward paper events or actual executions. No number of completed lessons certifies trading skill, promises returns or establishes suitability for live exposure. The educational objective is narrower and testable: another reader should be able to reproduce the decisions and identify what remains uncertain.
Build the evidence in chronological order
Record the rule and data versions before the evaluation segment. Save eligible and blocked opportunities, including missing-data cases. For every accepted intention retain its program identity, quote timestamps, size approval, orders, unique fills, costs and closure evidence. Keep an incident register and a change register alongside the economic ledger. Separate lessons learned after the segment from facts available during it. A revised rule may be a legitimate next experiment, but it cannot silently replace the one that generated the observations being reviewed. Preserve a readable version of both.
Reconcile a small illustrative account bridge
For the accounting exercise only, start at USD 10,000 and add a USD 500 external deposit. Four closed programs have net results +80, −50, +40 and −30 dollars, totaling +USD 40. One open position is marked at −USD 70, with no other flows or charges. Ending equity is 10,000+500+40−70=USD 10,470. Economic P&L is −USD 30, while the visible equity increase is USD 470. Deposit timing and valuation conventions are still required for a proper percentage return. Four closed programs are not enough to establish a stable performance distribution.
| Item | USD | Classification |
|---|---|---|
| Opening equity | 10000 | Capital |
| External deposit | 500 | Flow, not profit |
| Closed net total | 40 | 80−50+40−30 |
| Open marked result | −70 | Economic P&L |
| Ending equity | 10470 | Closing capital |
| Economic P&L | −30 | Deposit excluded |
Evaluate completeness without overstating performance
Suppose the project recorded twenty candidate observations, twelve passed all eligibility gates and ten accepted programs are reconciled closed. Two accepted programs remain open or unresolved and require explicit status; do not assume they are completed losses or delete them from the population. This operational example is distinct from the four-program accounting exercise above. Report eligibility as 12/20=60% and closed-program completeness as 10/12≈83.33%, each with its own meaning. Neither percentage is the trading win rate. Metrics are valuable only when the population, time cutoff and numerator actually match the stated question.
Make a defensible project decision
Continue means the frozen paper experiment can collect more evidence within its existing limits. Revise means a specific hypothesis or implementation change has been registered and a new evaluation boundary is needed. Suspend means a defined operational or risk problem prevents new entries until reconciliation and repair. These are project-management decisions, not predictions of the next trade. State unresolved sample uncertainty, execution assumptions, stress limitations and selection history. A favorable account segment cannot compensate for an unexplained open position, and a fully reconciled ledger cannot by itself establish that the method has positive expectancy.
Submit the final review and choose the next study path
Deliver the charter, boundary tests, three worked tickets including a no-trade case, the account bridge, both registers and a one-page decision memo. Explain every denominator and identify at least three conclusions the evidence does not support. Use the final course review to locate gaps, then return to the relevant foundation, applied-execution or research modules rather than merely accumulating more readings. Keep the final project as a paper research artifact with an explicit review date. The strongest outcome is a process that remains understandable when it loses, rejects a setup or encounters incomplete information.
