The plan meets a losing path
Keep adherence separate from profit.
Illustrative simulation · No historical performance claim01. Read the information available.
This illustrative long setup has met its documented conditions. The entry is already filled at 4,000, the quantity fits the selected risk budget and the planned stop is active. There is no new evidence yet that qualifies a change under the stated method.
02. Apply the documented plan.
Keep the stop at 3,992 and target at 4,016 unless a separately documented adjustment condition occurs. This example specifies no qualifying adjustment. Assume an exit at the first stop or target touched, before costs.
Stop touched · -1R before costs
After an initial favorable move, the subsequent simulated candles reach 3,992 before the target. At the assumed stop fill, the price loss is USD 8 per ounce against USD 8 of initial stop distance: -1R. The later bounce does not change the already-defined exit result.
What this case teaches
Record the compliant loss separately from a process violation. One loss cannot identify whether the method has a negative expectancy; a winning violation would not demonstrate a sound process either. Use a consistent sample and net results for performance review.
